 Use of Social Influencers

Salt + Citrus will eventually use Influencers to promote our brand. Because influencers have a larger following of loyal and dedicated social media viewers my brand's visibility would increase. Followers highly regard influencers' recommendations and this could increase sales. However, it is critical that the influencer's style matches your brand value. Companies need to ensure that the influencer truly represents your brand

When selecting an influencer business needs to ask the following questions:

•             How can the influencer help?

•             The budget for influencer marketing?

•             Do they need a contract?

•             Do the influencer's followers have an interest in the brand’s niche?

•             Do your brand values match the influencers?

There are different types of influencers to consider.  Brand advocates are influencers who work without a contract but review and talk about brands on their sites. Brand advocates are the least expensive to work with and may be willing to negotiate a trade agreement. Micro-influencers typically have a following of 100 to 5,000.  They usually focus on beauty technics, products, travelers, parenting, fashionistas, or food. Macro-Influencers have the largest number of followers, generally between 100,000 and 1 million followers.

When determining expectations with an influencer, guidelines need to be established but they should be able to develop the content because they are more familiar with their followers and know what produces the most interest. 

An effective way to determine the impact of the influencer on sales is to give each one a unique promo code. They can give the promo codes to their followers and during the brand promotion and businesses can track sales. This is especially effective because new customers are encouraged to make a purchase because they also receive a promo code discount.

Businesses can also work with influencers to hold contests and giveaways to promote brand awareness and create a positive increase in website traffic. When businesses select the best social media influencer fit and combine a marketing strategy, they can increase brand awareness and venue.
