Sprouts Farmers Market and The Cream of the Crop are two grocery stores specializing in organic foods. They each target health-conscious shoppers interested in natural foods and wholesome options. Their prices are higher than normal grocery stores and they do not carry most big-name food manufacturers' products. They both offer deli-style sandwiches to go, fresh organic produce, and cater to specialized diets. Both store’s webpages welcome you to their home page with an invitation to subscribe to their email list to receive coupons, notifications on sales, and store updates.

Sprouts Farmers Market is headquartered in Arizona. They are a full-service supermarket with an emphasis on organic foods. According to "Retail & Trade ›Food & Beverage" (n.d.) Sprouts 2020 net sales totaled over 6.4 billion dollars. There are more than 126 Sprouts stores in California. Sprouts Famers Market promotes itself by stating they are “everything you love about a farmer’s market, open seven days a week, rain or shine”. They define themselves as a fresh, friendly take on grocery shopping. Their website supports these statements with bright attractive pictures and informative information.

The Sprouts webpage is attractive and easy to navigate. The brand logo is on every page, and it is easy to navigate. The font is contestant, and they stay on message with lots of clickable links for more information. They are a full-service grocery store. They link their heavily active social media account on their website. Including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and Twitter. There is a social media marketing team that has crafted an attractive and interactive brand. Their social media sites include posting recipes, special diet information (keto, gluten-free, etc.), DIYs for holiday décor, and composting instructions. In 2015 Sprouts founded its Healthy Communities Foundation. They are working to educate and empower people to healthier lives.

The Cream of the Crop immediately identifies itself as one of the first natural food stores in Oceanside, they go on to point out that they are a family-owned and operated store and they have been in business for over 25 years. Their home page describes the single store location and hours of operation. The specials tab does not list any prices or items or identifiable specials. The webpage is neat and easy to read and navigate. They have a wholesome logo with an image of a bunch of carrots and their name. The logo is consistent on most of their pages and the navigation and fonts are uniforms. They have links to their social media accounts. Their Facebook page has over two thousand followers, recent activity, colorful photos, and updated information. The Twitter link is broken. The Instagram page has 2,274 followers and biweekly posts. They also link to Yelp and have 166 reviews with four and a half stars.

The Cream of the Crop webpages reflects a well-run, small independent local business. They are connected to their community and offer an alternative to grocery franchises. Their target market is beachgoers and locals, looking for wholesome food options. They offer many of the same items as other area natural food stores, but they are closer to the beach making them an ideal stop for sandwiches on the way to the water or a quick neighborhood stop for a few necessary dinner items. Customers pay for the convenience of being close to the beach, but they are also concerned with supporting local businesses.

The obvious differences between the two websites are that Cream of the Crop is an independently owned store with one location, while Sprouts is a large organization with many locations. A subtle difference in website comparison is that Sprouts manages its own “shop online” option while Cream of the Crop uses Mercato. Mercato is an outside company that supports e-commerce, for online ordering and delivery.

There would be customer crossover. The Cream of the Crop is a small location, and it is not suitable for all your grocery needs. Customers are very likely to stock up on larger items at Sprouts. However, Sprouts is not conveniently located near the ocean, and it is reasonable that their customers would go to the Cream of the Crop for smaller items because of their convenient location.
